Our group was back for the summer of 2001 as "The Culprits DC" doing a handful of gigs playing both the tunes we have out on comps....GG Allin's DRINK FIGHT FUCK & the original song co-written with Erik Johnson back in '95 "Those in power send us to hell" along with a bunch more covers by the likes of Sham69, Angry Samoans, GBH , Ramones, Killing Joke & a few other seminal bands.

year 2001 cancelled concert calendar (stupid, ain't it?)...
August 10th -scheduled to have played- @ Verona's Bistro with The Sick Teens (who featured current & ex-members of The Devotchkas, Relix, Flags into Battle & Suburban Crisis - we hear they've since packed it in) from NYC plus from VA...Skapegoat & Capt. Obvious

August 11th -gig discussed in Poolesville MD- with WV's Cowtipped, Poindexter, Twin Cheek Assualt, Bust, and Third Twin...venue never came thru!

so...the band's year long hiatus was broken (in 2001) but now it's back on hiatus again (Aug 2004).
Sean had drafted in the guitarist from our 2000 gig AIDZ of the Epidemix.
On drums this time around was Mike of BARBARATHRASH (link doesn't work, i know). The band did record a rehearsal/demo with Steve Garland (known his work as our former drummer in 2000 @ sorry ass Velvet Lounge gig) & some of the guitar and/or bass tracks are being erased/re-recorded to make this thing actually listenable.

Yes, i know that link probably isn't working currently, along with the Troma Style link on the homepage! Sowwy.

Finally, The Culprits DC did not play Aug 27th, 2001 because our drummer went off to college & because the owner of Verona had a fucking cow about having punks come into his ALWAYS empty establishment. He felt our friends weren't buying enough food & beverage PLUS out of town bands were not good for drawing a crowd. BULLSHIT WE SAY. Suffice to say, Verona went thru another round of doing punk shows to pull a quick buck then had to stop by order of the fire marshall!

The flyer below was done by our good friend Paul who we didn't ask to do one more fucking update so you just gotta take my word for it when i say info about the Aug 27th gig was wrong, that show got moved to Fredericksburg anyhow as a THE SUSPECTS gig (see homepage for details on that).
